Medicinal plants are a vital component and play an important role in the health care of rural people around the world. It is also an important contribution to the livelihood of the poor, but in countries with high population density the pressure on natural forests is difficult. In this case, marginal or small-scale farming of wild animals can contribute significantly to the livelihood of the poor and reduce pressure on natural forests. Thus, sustainable agriculture can be considered as an act of nature conservation

The current study aims to assess farmers’ perceptions as well as current research and policy-making processes related to the non-agricultural sector. The results of this study point to the problems of developing the sector due to lack of processing technology, reliable transportation of products, capacity building of farmers, microfinance, inclusive policy-making, coordination between agencies and research institutes, and weak extension and research. , market supervision, land use change, segmentation, etc. However, the current forestry policy only briefly addresses these issues

Farmers and other stakeholders, for example traditional healers, are not involved in policy making, resulting in an unworkable management system. According to the findings of this study, it is critical to establish a coordination of practitioner experiences, research and policy characteristics to make medicinal plant cultivation economically and environmentally sustainable.
